The pictures are so small. I tried to upload them but they were too large for the site so I went to an online image resizer and cropped them.

I must be missing a step.
When I post and use the "Manage Attachment" option I get "Upload file from your computer" which I choose my picture from, than I use Upload file from a URL" and I get this message,
Your file of 923.0 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 293.0 KB for this filetype.
I'm obviously missing something. Is there a step by step for us newbies?
