I don't think so Lab. Your JD sounds more like he had an abscess type lump where jessfish's pleco had a solid, unfilled type of thingie similar to a cauliflower tumor. That on your JD may have to drain some and simply dry up on it's own. Some salt in his water might aid in curing and dying up?

Thanks for the Peru update. He sounds like quite the character. My BN mostly hides...
Lab...I'm thinking a salt treatment might be helpful too...55 g Goldfish Tank - 2 Fancies, 2 Comets
25 g Tropical Tank - Celestial Pearl Danio/Mixed

It's definitely tissue there. I was surprised it ruptured actually. I'll try to get a pic of it later.Originally Posted by i_am_511

I think try salt in the tank with your pleco Lab Rat & see if that helps before you do anything else & maybe think about meds - if you havent tried that yet. yes Peru's growth had nothing in it...
here is an updated picture of what he has done to his nose...i'm glad im not stuck on him looking 'perfect' I was worried he was hurting himself - but i guess since he keeps rubbing his nose on the glass it doesnt bother him & i have no idea how to get him to stop! LOL!
but if this is a problem or anyone thinks it could become a problem & has ideas to stop him...please let me know! :)
