    Default How many can i fit in a 55 gallon?

    how many malawis can i fit in my 55 gallon aquarium, its 4' long but i dont know how tall.

    If they're mbuna I'd aim for 12-15 with staying on top of maintenance and with great filtration.

    +1 that was excatly how my 55gal mbuna tank was set up. weekly 60% water changes with tons of filtration can work very well

    Rather odd to ask how many will fit. You can probably fit 500 in there but if you want a thriving, healthy tank then go with Lab_rats advice.

    I currently succesfully keep 15 sub adult mbuna cichlids in a 55gal. Seems to be a number that works. Best of luck!
