  1. Question Am I over stocked?

in my 20 gal listed in my signiture i have recently added 3 zebra loaches all about 1-1.5 inches i read that they need bigger groups but i want to make sure im not over stocked before i try and get more. i know the loaches will probably need a bigger tank since they get 4 inches, im currently working on getting a bigger tank.

That'll matter to a certain extent if it's a 20 tall or a 20 long. My gut says you might be able to get away with it in a 20 long if it's heavily filtered, but not in a 20 tall-there's not enough bottom space to keep everyone happy.

IMO, you are overstocked due to aggression. 3 gourami are overstocking you. Adding 3 more loaches that grow to large to an already existing stock of loaches that grow to large is not a good option either.

I hold to the opinion of stock the tank you have, not the one you plan for.

Honey Gourami are pretty tame-I had a pair when I first got back into the hobby and they got along pretty well. I guess your mileage may vary.
