My dad just called me from vacation in Hawaii just now (he and mom LOVE Kauai - they originally went there for my wedding). So I am imagining warm breezes, humidity, and the tropical ocean. So nice. Unfortunately I am a little green with envy too...I have to convince DH to take all four of us when the kids are a bit older.

They are going whale-watching later on today...sigh...

I write Transformers fanfiction, both by myself and in collaboration with other writers. My co-author Gatekat and I have given the Transformer homeworld Cybertron a thriving mecha-animal ecosystem through our work, everything from birds to bugs to reptiles and large animals of all stripes. Now we have added fish to that ecosystem... The meditation gardens of the Citadel of Light now feature large fine oil ponds full of mechanical koi fish ^_^

Went to the Farmer's Market - specifically to get myself a new bar of handmade soap...and opted for the 3 for $13 discount...

Now I have the happy dilemma of which bar to use up first...:D I'm leaning towards the lemongrass...

Seriously, Comet has the most eyeshine I've ever seen in a betta. His eyes are silver, but his pupils are huge and they practically glow red. Can be a tad creepy when spotting him watching me in a dimly-lit room

I gave the kids' old trombone and flute to a charity that fixes them up and sends them off to band programs in South America. I made sure that both instruments were worth repairing and useable.

I could have had them repaired and then sold them...but for the $100 I might have made, I'd rather see them go to a good cause.

Last week, when my 'men' took my youngest son's huge (and really heavy) shops project (TV stand) down the basement stairs, the older son fell back and made a huge hole in the wall. I had a mini-temper tantrum...and yesterday they fixed that hole...and the 3 others (that had developed over the years). Took them about 2 hours in total...

I have to live the patches until we repaint...but that's better than holes!
