I just made an incredibly ugly cake
Normally I make some lovely cakes... and this one is for the bf's birthday so its doubly disappointing. I attempted to hide some of the error with creative use of sprinkles.... and I think that just made it worse.
I suppose I could take comfort in the fact that at least he had cupcakes at work (I made those yesterday and they turned out good) and that the plan is just the two of us for dinner. So I'm hoping he will find it all rather funny.
And of course monday = pick up the house. (I kind of let things just go on the weekend when its the two of us. )

Had the farrier out on Saturday. Got everyone's toes done for the fall, and wormed the lot of 'em. Now I'm good until January...*crosses fingers and anything else crossable*.
Regular household chores were done. Watching Hoarders got me to clear out a bunch of old magazines I was saving. From 2006. I know I won't reread them even though I really like the concept of having time to.
Opted not to go to our first orchestra rehearsal yesterday evening. It was part rehearsal and part 'party'. While I don't like the party part of orchestra, I'd stay if everyone else did. There are 50 of us. If we scheduale a 'party', 5die-hards stay...while the rest vacate the building like rats on a sinking ship. It's rather depressing...so I compensate by not showing up at all (yes, I know it's a cop-out).55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

Things I did this morning that the bf doesn't yet know about:
Swapped out the 20 hex tank in the guest room for the 20 long. The hex was more intended for a middle measure to the first custom tank install... but the man is incredibly slow about that project.... so I'm finally tired of the cat prints on the glass and the plants deprived of a decent plant light so I swapped them out for the better equipped 20L that was in the garage. This also means I can use the better filter for the tank. I'm sorely tempted to look for deals on some fish now though ¬.¬
I need to hit the grocery store and do a wc on the big tank today.... and refasten down the large moss clump on my wood so its not floating around. I'm a bit grumbly this morning since I used up my last of my milk on a before bed glass so none for cereal this morning. (Yeah I know.. my own damn fault. But at the time the rationale of having eggs or toast or oatmeal sounded reasonable!)

I refilled all my big water bottles today... Need to clean Midnight's tank. We got the carpet pulled up at my grandfather's old house, to show the hardwood underneath. And I sent a money order for a t-shirt with a female betta crest on the front ^_^
Last night my pink female Flit's internal plumbing got blocked up; I found some canned peas and fed her some. But the peas didn't seem to help. Flit passed a couple of hours ago. The other females in the tank are still looking for her

...first I don't have enough to do to keep going at work and I was getting stressed trying to find ways to be productive...now I have too much to do all at once...
First things first though...I called the doctor's office to book an appointment...and got a cancellation for this afternoon...I'm off to have my swollen ankle looked at - again. It's only been 10 weeks or so...
I'll take my Statistics for Dummies with me to read (finally stopped waiting fo the library to get me their copy and I bought one)...I actually still knew everything in the introduction...maybe I'll surprise myself and remember more than I think I remember...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

I've done the laundry and finally figured out how to turn off the "cycle done" noise on the dishwasher before doing the current load of dishes.
I still
my dishwasher for how incredibly quiet and good it is. So far I've only opened it once or twice while it was running because I wasn't thinking of it and the thing is so quiet.
I'll probably spend the afternoon working on the cross stitch project I'm doing for the mother in law. I sure hope its done by Christmas.

Someone was selling 8 5g tanks for $50 I couldn't pass it up. Now where and what I'm going to do with them I haven't a clue. I was being so good too cutting back on aquarium clutter over the past year or so, oh well.

Good news: There is nothing wrong with my ankle as far as x-rays go. I can go ahead and get back to exercising - I just have to tape it up first.
Went to my first dance class last night of the season...it was fine.
Bad news: I still have a swollen ankle and it might be another 6-12 weeks of it.55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

Being arachnophobic attracts spiders, I swear to Primus...
Three times in the last week and a half, I've caught movement from the corner of my eye that was decidedly non-fishy. Turned out to be a huge brown spider. The first one left this existence via sneaker, the second two were bottled and then evicted. Last night, one literally startled the number two out of me in the bathroom... Creepy thing comes racing out from under the cupboards, right at me. Fortunately for me (but not for it) dad's auto trader was in easy reach.
I FINALLY got Midnight's tank properly cleaned. Never meant to take so long to get it done, but I keep getting dragged out of the house all afternoon, and by the time I get home I'm too tired to do anything.
Mom got her cast off yesterday. Was she ever glad to be rid of it. Now she's got a cast boot thingy from the orthopedic place... Looks like a weird ski boot. But at least she can take it off.
