Whatcha doin' today?

Had to go in to the house early to meet Fred and one of his friends, who has a truck and was taking loads of junk to the dump for us. They didn't show until after 10am, spent a lot of time sorting out various piles, and took three huge loads to the dump and to the recycling plants. The house is now almost empty, and it feels very echo-y.

I was carrying a box out to the car when the wind caught the lampshade on top of the pile, blowing it off. It rolled under my feet. Since I was carrying a box I couldn't see it, and ended up tripping over it. There was, thankfully, very little breakage despite the box crashing down onto the concrete sidewalk. My right knee was pretty thoroughly shredded, and I have painful abrasions on the heels of both hands. As if that wasn't enough, a piece of glass got me between my right thumb and forefinger while I was cleaning it up. Really not my day. I have a large bandage on my right knee, and I can see the blood getting through even the thick pad.

Sorry about your accident, Cy. You seem to have had more than your fair share of hard luck, lately. Now just wait -- someone is sure to blame YOU for the broken items, even though it wasn't your fault!

As for what I did, today -- changed the water in my 65-gallon and rehomed the two red glofish danios from there into my 20.

Did some work in the garden, though it was awfully hot, today, so couldn't spend a lot of time up there.

Hubby was out of town for awhile.

Not much else ...

Fortunately for me, those items were on their way to the thrift store since we have no room for them here. The broken items were removed and put in the garbage, and the people at the thrift store won't even know there's anything missing.

Grey rainy day today, which is just as well, I won't be tempted away from housework quite so easily. Family flying in tonight for a whirlwind tour visit. gotta get the tanks cleaned up and house sanitary before they arrive!

Going to be gray and rainy here today as well. Goin to go to dads and do a little work and maintenance on the racecar. Then back home and probably a few water changes and maintenance on some of the tanks. Check on my new rare guys

Regular weekend...housework and yardwork...then we went out for pizza and dinner last night...great weather! Did an awful job caulking a wood window frame (seeing if will help increase the life expectency of said window)....but got it done! When I repaint it, hopefully you won't notice...

My days are sadly uniform lately...go to work...come home...veg...go to bed...repeat.

If my ankle hadn't hurt itself (still no idea what's wrong with it) I would've been able to exercise at least. I feel like I lost my summer...

Worked...thinking about ordering new Ts...went to look at a used car my son had found on Kijiji...dunno if he's getting it or not...but it was stressful - he didn't want his mom and dad there...so he was being awful...

The car was fine...

^_^ I found out today that I can get the BioShock 2 Minerva's Den downloadable add-on, thanks to my sister's bf, who has x-box live *bounces* I can't wait!

And I just found out that the lfs ordered one single dragon betta, and it's MINE!! ^_^ He'll be here late next week, when the order arrives. So excited!

Today I also tracked down the Cape Breton Trap and Skeet Shooting club... For some reason unknown my grandfather had an entire box of skeets in the basement, and he didn't trap shoot as far as I know. Not knowing what else to do with the things, I took the box and the thrower over to the skeet club. They were happy to take them.
