Two tanks done this morning, but I think thats it for tanks, even tho I have two left to do. Well, maybe just one - I will leave the JD tank alone, seeing as the eggs are supposed to hatch sometime today.

Going on a wee trail ride this afternoon...I dunno, its supposed to be 34 degrees today, so I imagine it will be an lazy ride!

Finished rolling $36 in pennies (my dad hoards them for months before rolling them and getting rid of them). Somehow I did something to tear or wrench something in my right knee, so I can barely walk properly on my right leg, and it hurts like nobody's business.

The rain FINALLY buggered off, and the temperature was over 30 degrees Celcius (plus humidity) today. It was a nice change from cold, wet, and gloomy.

For some reason, we had no cable signal all day long... I tried to figure it out with the remote, and I hope I didn't mess up big time (there's no 'reset' on it that I could find). Around 7:00 p.m. it was back...do I have to pay for a day of no cable signal? *argh*

Otherwise...got done what I set out to do...some housework and some vegging...

Back to the regular work-week today!

    >< The rain is back, fraggit...

My leg is well and truly blown; by the time I went to bed last night my right knee was so sore I could barely walk on it at all. This morning it wasn't much better. And of course I've been moving around on it all day, which was not helping any.

My TV's wall mount was attached to the wall today, and the TV is on it ^_^ Tomorrow my cable box gets reset so I can watch tv shows again. I hooked up my x-box 360 to the Tv and was playing some BioShock, just to make sure everything worked. Tomorrow, the PS2 and some WALL-E (I can not play that game on the DS anymore, cuz it is sooooo much slower, more boring, and all you can do is make/throw cubes).

Apparently I am 'remote-challenged'. It wasn't the cable signal, it was me. But I think I have it figured out now. I hate having to press buttons in 'secret' succesions to get to where I want to go.

It was hot yesterday! About 31 C, but 40 F with the humidex (90%)...we're not used to that much heat.

Another scorcher today, then it should cool down.

Good news! This morning I've managed to count all eight minnows, several times. Was concerned for awhile, because I was consistently counting only seven. Everybody is alive and thriving.

Did some early morning gardening -- deadheading, mainly. Sunday night I weeded my groundcover slope until it was almost too dark to see anything, then went indoors.

Yesterday, we were out of town. Hubby had to go to the VA for an eye exam. Preliminary results show all is well. More thorough evaluation will come later on. He has a lens implanted in one eye, which presents some limitations.

We also managed to sell some wood from an old barn to a furniture maker we know. The wood was still in good shape, and he was glad to get it.

Heard, and then saw, a Western Tanager yesterday, on our own property. Those are beautiful birds. Bright yellow with red heads (males) and black and white on wings, and black tail. Females are more of a yellowish green all over, without any red. Their song is distinctive, so I always know when I'm hearing one.

Hubby finally glued down the vinyl and trim flooring that is to go beneath my 65-gallon. The next step is the cove base around the walls. I told him I'm setting that tank up this coming weekend, whether the floor and surround are ready, or not. He's finally gotten on the ball and is finishing it.

Started out warm today, but then the fog rolled in and the temperature dropped like a rock. Had to get money from dad to go and pay a bill for him, traded in two PS2 games I won't play for one I will, and picked up another load of stuff from the house we're selling once it's cleaned out.

My right knee has finally stopped hurting, though it is stiff and twinges if I move the wrong way. Hopefully it won't start aching again.

Looks like I need some "extension cords" for AV cables... My tv refuses to acknowledge input from anything but the AV ports on its side, and the narrow sliver of space between the TV and the wall makes switching devices very awkward. Gonna call around tomorrow and see if anyone has any extensions.

Survived two days of extreme heat. Have a busy day at work today. I won't be done until I pick the 16-year old up from the airport at 8:00 p.m., so I'm panicking a bit! So what do I do when I panic? Procrastinate.

    Deep breath...deep breath...

    I'll be good, I'll finish my coffee...waste a few more minutes and then get to it...yes I will...soon...real soon...yup...uh-huh...

I made homemade pie crust for the first time in over a year. I really dislike store pie crust.. but its convenient and in a house where one of the two of us doesn't really eat crust of any sort... I tend to use it.

I'm in a bit of a funk for no good reason today, just don't feel like doing much. But I'll power through... do the bedding and the fish tanks today.

While hubby and I were gone over the fourth of July holiday, the weeds in my garden went on steroids. So, guess what I've been doing these last several days? That's right -- playing catch-up!

Hubby got the wall trim around the vinyl flooring glued down last night, so it looks like I'll be setting up my new 65-gallon tank this weekend. Am really looking forward to it! You'll be amazed at the collage I put together for the background. Will take pics as I go along...
