I actually got out of the house today!
Mom was going out to staples to shop for a new computer chair, as the one in the living room was falling apart and on the verge of collapse. I wanted to go to the bookstore, so she took me with her. When we got to the mall I discovered her ulterior motive for taking me along: chair testing. If my wide behind can fit comfortably in the chair, then my dad's should be able to, too XD
I did get into the bookstore and finally used the gift card Michelle gave me for Christmas. I ordered a copy of Transformers: Autocracy through the bookstore's website. Mom got herself a bluetooth device for her car, a clipboard for dad, and a fancy new computer chair. While in the mall, I checked out an exhibit by the Newfoundland Insectarium (live and mounted insects, plush toys, stickers, educational books, etc), and came home with two mounted butterflies in a picture-frame display case. I also stopped by the Bulk Barn for some of the trail mix I love, and got some copper blond hair dye at Wal-Mart.
I also came home with a candy apple. Can't forget the candy apple :D

I went in to the dentist to have my teeth looked at this morning. Both of my lower front teeth are cracked in addition to the chunk missing from one; I have an appointment on the 21st to have them fixed.
Since I do have a driver's license I got mom's car after driving her to work... First time I've driven, literally, since November. I have developed a tendency to stay closer to the white line than to the center line... Once creamed, twice shy. But otherwise I'm not a bad driver considering how long it's been since I've been behind the wheel.
FINALLY got into the lfs for the first time in about four months. Came home with a tiny female whose fins had been chewed to shreds by her larger sisters; the store manager gave me a discount on her. Currently she's hiding behind the plant in the quarantine tank. Also adopted a small male...
Meet Ember. This is the best pic I have of him right now; he's still fully in the grip of the "OMG SPACE!!" wiggles. I mean that; he's doing his very best impression of a pinball now that he has the room to stretch his fins. Ember is a standard VT. And yes, he's orange. The darker spots in his fins are making me lean toward "orange dalmation" as his color pattern. Anyone have any thoughts?

A few days ago, my youngest sibling Michelle dropped in with a surprise purchase for me. Since Target is moving into Canada, they bought out Zellers and all the Zellers stores are closing. They're selling off everything at massive discounts. Michelle and her bf Aubrey were in the Sydney store when Michelle spotted a hardshell DS game system carrier. It steals airtight and is waterproof and shatterproof, and it floats in water. It has space for 16 DS game cards and 12 gameboy advance cartridges. This thing normally sells for nearly $40 and it was on sale for $7. So she bought it for me ^_^Last edited by Cyberra; 03-13-2013 at 04:20 AM.

I was going to make a bottle run so I could get a new light bulb for my 5-gallon tank, but then it snowed and mom wouldn't let me take her car. It's got all-season tires, not winter tires, so she didn't want me out on slippery roads. Dad brought his car over, but the thing's a boat with a bad transmission and I refuse to drive it. So no bottle run.
I got a shower instead, then the sun came out and melted the snow, so mom and I went out to the hairdresser for a haircut. I've got the kind of hair that tangles at the drop of a pin, so I prefer to keep it just below shoulder length. Any longer and it can get into knots as big as golf balls. The hairdresser took about five inches off the back. Now I just have to wait until my other sister comes back from Halifax to get it redyed.
I also got into the dollar store to feed my fuzzy sock addiction. Yes, my fuzzy sock addiction. By now I've got two drawers full of them.

I got to work early today...and just can't get cracking. The coffee shop isn't even open yet. It's gong to be a long day. I have my last superbusy day at work today, then it slows down for me again for a month or so...which will be nice.
Rehearsal tonight. If there's not another snow storm...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

Always good to get out of the house for a while... I was able to get out to the bookstore to pick up a book I'd ordered last week. Mom got herself a copy of The Hobbit on DVD, which I have walked off with for the moment.
Sunny The Grouch and Gem got their water changed, and both of them are sulking about it. The Tiny Shy is less shy, though she still bolts and hides at every sudden movement. She seems to spend quite a bit of time admiring Ember in the next tank over.
I FINALLY managed to find good copies of pokemon leafgreen and emerald on ebay. I also got a new mp3 player, because mine died on me a few nights ago.
I'm now looking for a nice specimen of the mineral sphalerite to add to my collection... Any gem or mineral collectors floating around here?

My bassoon needs some tweaking, so I'm taking it in on the way home. Shouldn't take long.
I'm proud of myself that I even noticed...lol.
I am in awe of all the key work on these things...someone was a genius...or a sadist...

Just got back from my dental appointment. I can't feel my lower jaw or my tongue and my mouth feels like it's full of tooth grit, but the broken front tooth has been FIXED! No more sharp edges tearing at my tongue. Right now I'm chilling at home waiting for the freezing to wear off so I can go on a bottle run without drooling on myself.
I have another appointment for the morning of April 9 for more work. It's been a couple of years since we've been able to afford to send me to the dentist (due to That Damn House sucking up all our funds), so my teeth, understandably and unfortunately, need work.

Eating with the entire right side of one's mouth numb is certainly interesting (and awkward), but the garlic bread was too tempting to resist...

On the same note...if you're learning to play the bassoon...and you're at the end of your 45 minute practice session...
