Whatcha doin' today?

Today I am making cookies all day.

I did go out on Black Friday... stopped at the post office and mailed off some gifts, then went to the store for eggs.

I am probably also going to make some turkey stock after I get all the meat off my turkey carcass from yesterday. My fridge is horrifically full, but it was a good time so it was worth it.

*snarls* The pelt that was supposed to be held for me while I saved up the money for it was put for open sale, and someone else bought it. Not only did I lose the pelt, but I was lied to. The seller PROMISED that it would still be there when I was able to afford it. I want very badly to maim someone. They should be lucky they live on a different continent.

My youngest sister was supposed to come pick me up so I could get my errands done today. She never showed. I don't drive the truck, and even if I did half the places I have to go are already closed by the time I get anywhere near the thing. I am so angry right now.

The water in the 5-gallon tank was getting all cloudy and started to smell funny, so I took the fish out, drained it, and gave it a thorough cleaning. Rainbow and Missy are currently glaring holes through the back of my head and have been all evening. But at least their water is clean.

Had a good day yesterday...didn't get home until 9:30...and didn't get to bed until midnight...so I'm a bit tired, but I have NO plans for today outside the normal - so I can veg as much as I need to.

I do need to practice my viola. Geez...I sucked again last at ensemble last night. I know what I'm doing wrong (I get note confusion in the alto clef, then I hesitate - esp. when sight-reading, then I'm a beat off...then I panic because I'm the one who's obviously off...then my brain goes 'lalalalala - you can't do this'...and then it all fall apart completely...

) what I don't know is 'why'. I do know these notes - despite the odd moment. I can play not badly to boot...AND the stuff we're playing is so easy - can't get any easier - you'd think I'd relax and enjoy...but nooooo....

I need to figure it out...it's just getting silly...

I do know that I keep thinking it must be me that screws up all the time...and I know it's not. Despite my note confusion with this instrument - I'm quite advanced compared to the others...they're all rank beginners...and I've heard them play so I know what level they're at...

I should certainly be able to lead and even instruct a group playing at this level (yes...I am qualified)...so it's frustrating that I feel like the weak link...

...did my practicing. I'm still having some issues with the viola music...I think in the one piece it might just be the note arrangement is awkward...however, I'll be fine by Saturday (almost have it memorized already).

Needed a nap, so my housework didn't get done...will finish that after we get back from errands...

The boys lost every game during volleyball Provincials

...well...at least they got to go for the experience!

The temperature outside dropped today... Was freezing out. I was wearing a sweater and leg warmers under a heavy coat and thick pants, and the wind was still getting right through. Most of the day was heavy overcast, and we were getting bombarded by pea-sized hail off and on. Ground's too warm for it to linger, but it never failed to startle the heck out of me when I heard hail beating on the windows.

I listed my grandfather's digital camera on Kijiji yesterday... Was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S700. Perfect working order, with a 1-gig memory card and the USB cable. I have my own camera, a Sony Cybershot DSC-W530, so I didn't need it, and there wasn't much point in it just sitting around collecting dust. The ad had only been up maybe an hour when I started getting responses, and someone came to purchase it from me this evening.

Had a quiet weekend...all good! Back to the grind today. However this week shouldn't be quite as hectic for me...

Rehearsal tonight...hopefully it will be fun!

Getting ready to go out of town.

Which means laundry and pet care (we do have someone stopping in while we are out, but I like to leave things as hands-off as possible). I also need to be getting things assembled for packing.

And then there is addressing Christmas cards to be done.

Another regular workday. Wish I could arrange for something "fun" to do on the dull days...but that always seems to involve spending money I don't necessarily wish to spend...
