Being driven right up the wall by the mutt and various other members of the family. Wishing everyone would go away and leave me alone for a while.

I've been busy this morning...new Tetratec EX1200 (filter), I put some of the old media from the Fluval 305 in it and I'll run the internal Fluval4 for a while too.

It is a bit taller than the old Fluval 305 so won't go in the cupboard, but then I knew that when I ordered it...My 2013 tank will be using two of these big boys :D
Fish seem happy about it, nosey as ever.

...you might want to set your lovely new filter in a small plastic tub if you're concerned about leaks or want extra protection for your carpet...lol...cardboard won't cut it...
Okay...I am going to have to talk to this other person who's sharing the lab...I think she thinks her project and herself trump my project and myself. However in the hierarchy that is the lab...I think I'm still higher up the food chain, er ladder...even given my current project.
I have never worked in this type of situation. If I leave the room for a meeting, a break, lunch...and come back...poof...my work space is invaded...it's gone beyond garbage cans...
I've worked in labs for many years...so this is just a new one on me. I've waited a week now to see if she 'gets' it...if it continues Monday...guess I'll have to step up to the plate. I'd rather not...not good with confrontation...*bwakbwakbwak*
Today: Practice violin, and then go watch volleyball...my younger son has a tourney, my older one has a high school 'reunion' game. I think the girls are coming too. Hubby is working the booth...so it could be fun...

Mom and I went out to the family bungalow in Mira today. We were taking up a box of stuff that was supposed to go out there but never did, and we had to make sure the place was properly locked down for the winter. The barbeque had to be tied up again; apparently someone had been out there, used it, and neglected to put the cover back on. It was quite chilly out there, and the wind's fairly high. The wind has also stripped most of the leaves off the trees, so the display of fall colors is lacking this year.
Also went on a water run; the 5-gal needs to be cleaned. Mom wanted to check the house anyway, so in we went. Picked up a couple of things at Wal-Mart while we were out and about.

Volleyball was fun! For the first 2 hours...then our butts got sore. That school must have the hardest benches in the world...
Today: The usual Sunday...finish housework, practice violin, make dinner.
I have what looks like a busy week shaping up though...so I'll take my quiet time today!55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

The filter is watertight, time to remove the cardboard.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so tonight dad is getting Chinese food, and my sister and her boyfriend are coming over. Dad woke me up to get me to clean up the kitchen a bit. I'm half asleep and am probably going to get an earful about my lack of cleaning skills when various people get home.
I'm also looking for another animal hide to add to my collection; I have seen pictures of them and talked to people who have them, and I have been told they are very soft and warm. Something I would love to have on my bed as the temperature drops. But I'm not sure I dare say what kind of hide I'm looking for, for fear of getting mobbed by certain other members of the forum >.> <.<

The Chinese restaurant we normally order from is not open on Mondays and never has been; dad only remembered that after he got home and everybody was pondering what to order. We ended up getting steaks instead. Despite having forgotten to order gravy for the mashed potatoes, it was still very tasty.
