I went out to the family bungalow in Grand Mira North on the Mira River today. We went swimming in the river. My sister Kate was up from Halifax, so I got to see her new car, a white 2011 Dodge Challenger, the fancy one. Nice car.
What mom and I will be driving has also been determined. Mom and dad are going to buy The White Beast from Kate; my other sister Michelle and her boyfriend Aubrey are going back to Halifax with Kate and Pat tomorrow to retrieve it.
AC, meet The Beast:

The Beast is a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport quad-cab 4x4, quarter-ton. I have driven this thing before, but only a couple of times.

Have fun parking! I drive a big truck too (I have a '99 Ford 250, and I drive hubby's work truck - a new 150) when I'm not driving my little KIA. I absolutely hate parking the trucks. I've been boxed in parking lots too - and needed help getting out...hate it...
Today: finish cleaning...walk the big-dogs (got the go-ahead that my ankle should be healed up enough)...and make the usual sunday dinner for the crew...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

Yesterday was a beautiful day...I survived my first 5 km big-dog walk since I sprained my ankle...but it was still a little hard on it...I think the gravel roads don't help with that (a little unstable compared to a sidewalk).
More errands this morning! Then...since the fall scheduale is starting up...board meeting and rehearsal tonight!
Actually looks like it's going to be a fairly busy day...

Mom finally caved and got FibreOP TV from Bell. They came to install it this morning. I had to dig up about half my room so they could get at my tv and the old cable connection. Lady Blue and her tank spent a couple hours on the kitchen table, having a staring contest with mom. Fish 1, mom 0 XD
The old cable line came in through my wall under the window, behind a bookcase holding two fish tanks. Rather than making me move the whole bookcase, the techs taped the new line to the end of the old one and just pulled it through. Arrow watched with great interest as everything was hooked up, flaring at assorted tools placed near his tank.
The 5-gal is practically under the TV, so I had to get mom to help me move it to the bathroom counter since I had to clean it anyway. After the techs were gone and I had everything back in place I cleaned the tank and put Rainbow and Comet back in. It was funny... Rainbow is usually the spazz of the two, and he only fluffed up a bit and started parading around. Comet, normally the calmer of the two, was all 'OMGOMGOMGOMG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" He tore around his half of the tank like a loon, then almost glued himself to the tank heater and stayed perfectly still for hours. Could only tell he was still among the finning because his pectorals would start fluttering when poked.
After the techs left, the heavens opened up. It was seriously raining so hard it was like standing under a waterfall. A massive storm system had moved in from the west and was sucking moisture out of the remnants of Hurricane Leslie. So much rain fell that Truro and some other areas are experiencing severe flooding. The forecast is calling for close to 125mm of rain in all. It's going to be a very wet week.

Have to go see the doctor again in the morning. Now that the swelling in my lip has gone down, I can feel a hard lump under the scar. Not sure what it is, but it could be glass shoved in by the airbag. I'd like to know for sure. Hopefully the doctor can figure it out.
