Finally got around to finishing a Rick Riordan book I've had for just under a year and kept misplacing. Thank Primus it's my own book and not from the library, or mom would've killed me >.>
The heat in my room hit 32 degrees C today. My tank water temperatures are holding at 85 degrees. All of my fins are little blurs of motion, thoroughly enjoying the heat.
Was looking at the clownfish needlepoint pattern, and it's only 72 stitches across, more or less. I think I can fit two of them onto a 20-inch square of fabric, though the positioning is still up in the air. Am considering having them back-to-back, facing opposite directions. Anyone have any thoughts?

Have them facing each other...with a bit of an overlap of heads (one on top of the other).
...it's raining and we have a day-trip planned (walking outdoors)...but I think we'll go ahead regardless...at least it's not 35 C and we won't melt...
Did nothing yesterday...too tired. And on top of that, some allergen is bugging my eyes...I was ready to rip them out of my face. Meds didn't seem to help...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

Well yesterday I baked up cookies(white chocolate macadami nut, and dark chocolate chocolate chip: Its like choosing which side of the force you want.. the light or the dark!
) and blueberry muffins.... so today I am going shoping and lunch with a friend in a town about an hour away that I used to live in. And returning a few fish corpses to the fish store and giving them cookies for being so awesome last time we were there.

Oh...I LUV macadamia nuts...
Pair them with chocolate...
I need to buckle down whether I want to or not and get caught up with 'stuff' today. Being on holidays - even if it's local holidays...messes with routines...
Yesterday felt like a real holiday! We went to Batoche and the site of the Fish Creek Battle...(Northwest Rebellion). We had lunch in a motel restaurant diner that looked like it came out of a set from Supernatural. Food was good though! Service was great. Then we took a ferry ride over the river! Talked with the Ferryman.

Did some catch-up housework...it's amazing at how fast things get dirty here...and I still never have a particularly clean house...lol. Kinda depressing actually...
I think I have 'dirt gremlins'. They conspire behind my back.55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

My dirt gremlins are 2 and almost 4. The worst is when they decide to hide something gross in a drawer that we dont use everyday....yuck.
I am spending my time fighting the 2 year old to keep his clothes on.....and then every 5 minutes I need to wipe his nose because somehow he learned to farmerblow. And allergies are killing all of us so it is pretty gross.

My aunt and uncle made dinner for everybody, then we settled in to wait for my other cousin's arrival. Several other relatives showed up in the meantime. I was outside for a bit until the mosquitoes drove me back inside. Got some awesome pictures of a painted lady butterfly and a red darning needle dragonfly. My uncle was amazed at how close they let me get...

After dinner mom and my sister got sucked into The Board Game That Never Ends, also known as Tri-Bond. It was quickly established that my aunt sucks at it, providing much amusement for everyone else. Sometimes the peanut gallery (myself and several other relatives, got the answers long before she did. Didn't get home until well after midnight, and I was so tired I could only feed my fish before collapsing into bed.

We went to the zoo! We have a tiny but lovely zoo of native animals ...with the odd 'exotic' (like the 3 parrots and a couple of really old monkeys). I try and go once a year...just to see what's new and to support the zoo.
Then we did a little 'antiquing'. Found 3 button hooks for my collection...one is really cool...1888.55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

The kerfuffle in my sorority tank, which began following the death of Mercury, is settling out. This little critter is apparently the new alpha female...

Mistress of the Twilight, a.k.a. Missy. Those royal purple scales make her one sassy little fin. Not sure why the edge of her anal fin curls in like that, but she's always been like that. She's fought off both Cloud and Moondance for the position of boss fin.
