Going out for dinner tonight with hubby and the 'kids'.

Just plans to do more home stuff during the day. Hubby and I are off on a road trip this weekend...so I'll get caught up here so the kids don't have to do too much while they house-sit...

Was hot as the Pit most of the day... The humid weather didn't move out to sea like it was supposed to, so it's still sweltering. I'm even more airheaded than usual due to lack of sleep. Dratted heat kept me awake.

The local mall had its anniversary fireworks show tonight. It was impressive. I was about 100 feet from where the fireworks were being launched, so they were bursting right overhead.

Right now am stalking Shadow with a flashlight and the camera to catch the green iridescence on his fins and scales, and he's giving me the death glare for it.

Cleaned my friends basements in the hope that he'll buy a 125 or 180g tank to take up all the empty space he has now.

Quilted just about all darn day long... got the interior portions of my quilt done.. need to do the outside and the flakes... then I can square it up and bind it off and be on to the next one!

I printed off the clown fish pattern and a pattern for a basic anemone. Now just have to dig out the right three shades of orange and figure out what colors I want for the anemone. Any ideas from those members who keep real anemones?

It finally rained today, which cleared out the humidity. At least temporarily. It's coming back with a vengeance >.< Which means sleeping is not going to be easy.

I'm peering into the big tank at Mistress of the Twilight, the blue-purple she-fin I don't think I've shown you guys pics of yet, and her sides are looking suspiciously creamy. I think it's time to try introducing her to some of my he-fins, or at least letting her peer into their tanks to get a look at them

I risked walking a 5 km 'race'...and while my ankle hurt and was quite stiff...it didn't swell...so that's a good sign!

Then following the marathon (hubby walked the 5 with me, then ran the 1/2) we drove for chickens!

I had ordered some back in the spring...and didn't get my order filled as expected...but it's okay. Came home with 6 hens (big chicks):

2 Speckled Sussex
1 Russian Orloff
1 White Langshan
1 Australorp
1 Barnevelder

Was a bit worried about the babies...it was 35 C when we stopped for gas and to water them...but they all look good this morning and seem to be okay hanging out with the mature birds...

Today...get caught up on stuff I didn't do while we were gone...

Well after slacking off and just doing quilting over yesterday... today I got out of the house and did grocery shopping, and donated our old electronics to a recycling group, laundry, dishes, WC the 20 and used the old water to water my porch pots... even walked over and gave the neighbor their mail, since the mailperson had one of those CRS moments and put all of theirs in our box.

Now I just need to clean out the fridge a bit and I can justify lazing about with some knitting or quilting.

Didn't get caught up yesterday...so I need to today.

Went to run a few 'quick' errands in town with hubby...and that turned into a whole day event. It didn't help that our signal lights got 'stuck' on left-turn. So we stopped by the dealership (for, like, forever)...and no one knew how to turn them off OR unwire them.

So he's taking it in next week - and in the meantime we have to live with it.

Looked at Jeeps though, for fun. Instead of getting a sports car...maybe I'll treat myself to a Jeep...it's also on my 'short-list', but much more practical...
