No puddle! Maybe the latest roof repairs did the trick!

Need to get my muffler repaired today (I told hubby something was 'wrong' with the car...he told me there was nothing wrong, and it was my imagination...so I made him actually 'look' at the car... and it's the muffler...)...violin lesson...and just a bunch of miscellaneous things that need attending to...

Had a good violin lesson last night...otherwise I was on my own for the evening, so I went to the bookstore and browsed, came home with some bargain books and a couple of classical music CDs...went for dinner by myself...read one of my new purchases while I munched...

Sometimes you can have a good time on your own!

Today - my older son is coming with me to the muffler shop...and after we drop off my car...we're going chain-saw shopping...

Hopefully my car will done by the time we're done so I don't have to sit and wait...

Our house is so dark when it's raining/overcast outside, despite all the windows...can't see what I'm vacuuming...

Day off...but I have a meeting tonight...making new by-laws for our community orchestra...should be fun though...

The vacuum truck came by today to find out why the septic system was overflowing into my yard. Turns out some idiot up the way dumped a very large amount of grease down their sink, which clogged up the pipes. Hopefully now that it's clean it'll stop overflowing and the yard will stop smelling like sewage.

I changed Arrow's water today, then switched tanks with Arrow and Amber. Amber is in the smaller tank so I can keep an eye on him, and Arrow is currently spazzing over being in a much larger tank than he's used to.

After three fragging weeks of trying, I have FINALLY gotten my one-star ranking in the Special Cup, 100cc engine class, in Mario Kart Wii. Now I won't have to fight with any of those four courses again till I get into the 150cc engine class. I hate Rainbow Road with a purple passion, and Moonview Highway and Dry Dry Ruins are tied for my second least favorite. Bowser's Castle always seems to spawn a ton of blue shells every time I get in the lead

Another average 'day'...I need to find a way to spice things up a bit more...

When the highlight of your day is going to pick up frozen rats on you way home after work...well...what can I say?

I finished the 100cc engine class Retro Cup series in Mario Kart Wii! Managed to maintain a one-star average (though in a couple of cups I actually got two stars) and unlocked Bowser Junior. Now the hard part... the 150cc engine class, and trying to get a one-star ranking there. If I manage it, I unlock Dry Bowser

Well today.... and for the next couple weeks, I am in the foyer of hades that is a Kansas summer heat, to help out my "in-laws" with some house work. I won't go into all the details, but let's just say that if you've ever read the Berenstein Bears and the Messy Room story... they got nothing on this situation.

I can honestly tell you... working for several years in nursing facilities certainly taught me some of the greatest life skills you can learn.

I have work, then a cricket-purchase, then book-keeping, then dealing with my 17-year old and his latest car repairs...and how he's going to pay us back for them. I'm not paying for his on-going 'stupid' repair bills ($1500 to repair damage done by going too fast on rutted gravel roads...)...that are now on our credit-card because he has no money-despite his part-time job/s.

I think I'm going to have to make him sit down and make a budget sheet and repayment scheduale...maybe that way he'll actually learn something.

Problem is he's bigger than me...and even if I sit on him, like I used to do when he was little, it just doesn't work anymore to hold him down...

I bought a copy of Bejeweled 3 yesterday from Walmart.

Guess what I'm spending the day doing???

That and letting the dogs in and out...
