My Angelfish has no stripes
Hey,
I got a small angelfish called Finn the other day and I have never had one before. I reserched online about them and they said stuff about the stpipes disapeaing when they are uncomfortable. My fish has no stripes and he never has. Does this mean he isn't happy. The pH levels are right and i have the right temperature.
Please help me out!!

not all angelfish have stripes. there are many different colors, and varieties. fading color over the entire, or most, of the fishes body is one of the many ways to tell if it is stressed. but if yours never had stripes i wouldn't worry if it still doesn't have any. it's important to know what your fish looks and acts like while not stressed so you can determine if there are any changes in its overall color and behavior.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

also, in general, a good variety of quality food, clean water and plenty of room go a long way to ensure a stress free and disease free fish.

I see your profile says your angel is in a small tank. Could you tell us more about this tank, such as gallons, filter type and how long its been up and cycled?

Only a few will have the stripes, those stripes are usually on ones that carry wild blood in them. The more inbred they get the less stripes they tend to show and the lack of red eyes.
1 angel needs atleast a 29g tank, angels like to swim distances as well they are not happy in cramped quarters. Angels get from 8-11" in total size, some get larger some stay smaller but the majority are a pretty large fish.

The sooner the better, the more room angels have to grow the better and they do grow pretty darn quick if fed the right foods.
if its small im thinking its a pet shot juvenile and its about 10-12 weeks old, it still needs foods that are loaded in proteins and veggie matter, fiber and all the good stuff.
You can also feed them "greenwater".
You need atleast a 29 us gallon capacity tank for it rather soon.
