Preventative Methods for Possible Ich Symtoms?
Well, it looks like something may in fact be going on in my fancy goldie tank -- at least two of my babies appear to be experiencing what I can only describe as the beginnings of possible Ich or perhaps something else...they're doing the quick rubbing-on-the-gravel thing and quasi-flashing, so I was wondering if there was something I could add to the water to kind of nip this in the bud...would some stress coat help? The last API battery of water tests I did came back pretty neutral, so I don't think my water is necessarily polluted to the point that it could be the direct culprit.

Something is bothering them.Up the temps to low 80 to start then keep a sharp eye for the ick spots. If you see any at all then treat with the ick med of your choice.Yes for now you can add some stress coat as it can help alleviate slime loss from banging against things.

Thanks for the quick response.
I medicated the tank once with Kordon's Rid Ich but it ended up being a case of wen growth, not Ich -- the stuff stained everything in my tank and ruined our carpets and I don't want to go through that again. Is there a non-dyed medication?

I was going to ask next about salting with the heat...I've heard that's a great method...
