I can get a used one from a guy I know for $100. Does this sound like a good deal. I dont know anything about them. I want to get a 90g tank in the future. Would this work well for it.

It says it works up to 100g but I like to oversize filters.

    Not a bad deal for a 405.

    and +1 on adding a second HOB filter, like a AC110 or a AC70.

I really like my 405, its a good filter

I have a AC 70 I would run with it for mostly biological filtration. Is there anything I need to worry about with fluval?

If your refeering to the fluval 405, my only advice would be to be careful to line up the top part of the filter (the motor housing) with the bottom part (the media container) when you put it back together. If your don’t have it lined up correctly and you try to close the clamps to tighten it down, you can damage the seal or the casing itself. That would cause it to leak.

I once damaged a seal like that.
