  1. Default Firemouth comp

I have a 30 gallon tank with 4 Rosy Barbs, 4 Black Ruby Barbs, 6 Head & Taillight Tetras, an Opaline Gourami, and an enormous longfin Blackskirt tetra. Will a Firemouth bully these guys around? The ones at the LFS are about 1.5 inches.

A firemouth should be fine. It will stick to the bottom of the tank while most of your fish prefer the upper realm.

Appears to me you have enough fish already in a 30 gallon.

Cichlids generally worry most about others of their own species, then about other cichlids (or other fish) that compete with them directly for territory or food. Barbs, tetras, etc, are usually igbored for the most part unless you have a spawning pair guarding eggs or fry.

    ^^^^Please click the eggs/dragons, thanks.

    Wow, thanks for the answers.

And don't worry, he's only going to be a growout I'm holding for my friend, I will give him back eventually and he will be able to live in a 75.

I was only wondering if it would be compatible because I've heard lots of people say they're peaceful and others say they're aggressive, I know my friend used to keep his old ones with Platies and Swords and they even raised fry successfully in the tank with a single firemouth.
