No you could do the sides in glass if you wanted, most just opt not to.

I like how you piled the flagstone. My local nursery has flagstone, and all the broken stones are free, so I get all the decent sized broken ones that I get for free and use them :)

I've never done a cost breakdown, but a rough estimate would be around $500

good to see the tank is doing well. how was that 2 part epoxy to work with? I hear mixed reviews on how easy/hard it is to apply evenly.

That's a pretty sick tank. I'm tempted to create my own when I go home on break. I've always been tempted to make a huge tank like this.
Empty 125g sitting in my shed
    55g Freshwater Tropical Community
    29g Convict Fry Growout Tank
    10g Freshwater Planted Tropical Community
    5g Freshwater Planted Dirt
    2.5g Ghost shrimp tank

I used the thin epoxy, it was really easy, I would lay each side flat and pour it out so it would creep into each crevice, I did about 4 layers this way, it worked really well.

Just do all the research you can and take the time to do it right. Some one gave me a old hexagon tank, im thinking of using the glass in it to make a bigger one.
