Fish You've Had To Walk Away From?
Have you ever been in your local fish shop and seen something you wished immensely you could just bag up and take straight home, but you've had to walk away from?
---
I knew it would be torture today to go to the LFS out in town before leaving to come home, but I did so anyways.
Walk-away #1:
I saw my very first Chocolate Gourami in real life.
Walk-away #2:
An albino long-finned pleco. Not knowing what species it was an albino of was why I had to walk away from that gorgeous baby.
Walk-away #3:
Albino bristlenose plecos. Also the first time I've seen them in real life. They were so cute and young! So young, unfortunately, that I doubted their ability to even compete with my Corydoras for food.
I also saw a mid-sized Piranha. Not a fan of them, and certainly have no room for one, but it was neat seeing one in real life at last.A severe lack of trichogaster.
Just because your Gourami is sick does not mean it is always Iridovirus, DGIV, Gourami Disease, et cetera.
Look at all the other factors in your tank before coming to this conclusion.

I once found a EBJD at our LFS when I went there for somthing else. The fish was close to adult size and looked outstanding. The past owner had to move and brought the fish back to the store for them to sell. At the time I only had one tank up and running with no room for any more additions, not to mention potential compatability issues.
Even my wife was suprized I didn't just buy another tank and take the fish home.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

texas cichlids and wild caught altums. i didn't literally walk away from them, but after doing research on them i realized i just don't have the tank to properly house them.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

I really want an oscar but don't have the tank for one, nor do I have plans to have a tank for one anytime soon. Nevertheless, the LFS has a tank full of them that I walk by every time I go in, and they always swim right up to the glass asking to be bought, or fed.

I always have to walk away from oscars or jack dempseys. I also find myself staring at the full grown pleco that my LFS keeps around. I don't have the tank room for an oscar or JD and I definitely can't house a pleco.
Also Fahaka puffers always catch my eye, but I don't have the tank for that either :( One day!45 Gallon Community

Oh, you reminded me! I also saw my first freshwater (or are they brackish?) puffers today in real life! Rather cute, really. Figure 8s, I think.
A severe lack of trichogaster.
