Congrats! I love my Multi tank! I'm going to have to move them into another/larger tank as I've got 5 adults and like 40+ fry, in different batches, with the largest being about 3/8" in length and the smallest being about a week out of the shell, in a 10G. I do have it filtered at a high level though with two double sponge filters and a Penguin 100 HOB with Purigen. You should post a pic of the setup.
Where'd you get your shells and what kind did you use?

I'd go with any of the Julidochromis except Regani. I'd probably choose Ornatus or Transcriptus. I've had Calvus with Multies & it didn't turn out too great. Once the Calvus got to about 4" they were a bit too intimidating for the Multies to handle & they spent all thier time in hiding. The Calvus also tried on occasion to have a smaller Multie as a snack but were never successfull.
Perhaps you could add a couple of other Tangs instead of just Julies? Maybe one each of Neolamprologus Leleupi & Telmatochromis Bifrenatus with a couple of Julidochromis Transcriptus or even Marlieri 'Gombe'. Or a pair of Eretmodus Cyanostictus with a pair of the smaller Julies. The Cyanostictus need excellent water quality or can prove difficult to keep. With the Cyps in the top of the tank it would be very active & quite colourfull. I love C. Nigripinnis.Q: What did the Sardine call the submarine?
