Submerged Canister

anyone ever used one submerged? I have one that I have given up hope of restoring, and am considering using just the top part as a pump for a small project. It is an old fluval 303, the hermetic seal is still fully in tact, but curious if anyone else had tried anything as crazy (stupid possibly) as this.

Not mine but that is what it looks like.

the barbs are broken halfway off so I wont be able to salvage it without significant effort, and even then disconnecting it over and over would probably eventually result in a leak.

Sell the parts. They are worth more than the filter or the pump.

thats.....not what I asked, but thank you.

And there are no parts to speak of other than the lid and the base. And the lid is broken. So, unless there is a huge demand for small buckets I don't know about, its really not worth a whole lot.

Guess the answer is no.

Checked the price of an impeller lately?
You apparently have an impeller, motor, and base. How about the threaded rings that keep the hoses on the barbs?
$10 - $20 if you find a buyer whose impeller is gone or motor burned up.
