are they common?
I went to a fish store thats far away. they always have exotic fish and plecos, like zebra plecos for 50$, and they have tons of discus. one of the coolest fish was a couple of huge blue arowanas for 200 regular 400
anyway, i saw the weirdest thing- veiltail oscars. they had the hugest and longest tails ive ever seen. is this a common strain in oscars now?

Not really, but if you keep an eye out for them or have a good LFS you can find them.

I dunno...don't like them - think the normal tiger oscars look the nicest...
If you're getting the arowana...get a 300g long tank...I feel so sorry for them stuffed in small tanks they can't move in...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos

I also prefer the normal finned oscars.
Arowanas are nice, especially the blues. Unfortunately it is one of those fish that most cannot properly care for due to their size.Owner: Aquarium Maintenance and Pet Care Company
