  1. Default is it possible to make your own garlic flavor enhancer?

I was considering buying garlic flavor enhancer for my puffer fish that wont eat,but i was going to see if i can go the cheap route to buy garlic myself and mix it with water. My question is,would it be ok to make your own garlic supplment and soak fish food in it to feed to my fish? Also how would be a good way to make it on my own? Thanks!

I roll some pellets in garlic juice and let it dry. Are you giving your puffer snails? They have to have snails to keep their teeth nawed off.

Not only is it OK, it's recommended for preventive measure for parasites and disease as well as an appetite enhancer. I use NLS Thera+A (loaded with garlic) food for all my fish and they're all active, healthy, brightly coloured, and aside from the Bettas, reproductive (not that they wouldn't be if they had a chance as they all build bubble nests all the time.)

Garlic is great for us as well but bad for cats and dogs. Boon to one and bane to another...

I didn't know it was bad for dogs? Gez, I used to give it to my dogs. Don't know about cats. Don't have them.

Smashing up garlic with the food is one option, or you can buy garlic juice in the stores.

I just use a garlic mincer, smash a few cloves, then mush it in with the food once or twice a week.

Could probably strain it to get pure garlic juice, would be less messy than my method...lol
