  1. Question Hair Algae invade my tank

Hi everyone, i set up my new tank 2 weeks ago and now my tank is invade by Hair algae, i didn't event add any supplement and only 7hrs lighting per day. Its a 15 gallons and im using a GLO 48 watts. I need some advice, if i remove all the infected plants should this solve the problem? I think the algae was already on the plants when i bought them.

    thanks

hello, i dont remember the name of the plants but i think its Rotala Magenta (Rotala macrandra v. 'narrow leaf') and Dwarf Hairgrass. but they are not low light the LFS told me that. I only bought a small pack of each, plant them into the tank and gave them 7 hrs of lighting per day.For the fishs i have: 8 rummy noise/5 Celebes Rainbow and 2 honey gouramis+ 2 hoto and 3 cherry shrimps fish are about 2.5cm each. Im also thinking maybe its my lighting problem im using 2x24 w lifeglo fluor

You have far too many fish in a 15 gal tank. The tank is only 2 wks old?How did you go about cycling it? What are your water testing parameters such as nitrate, nitrite, ammonia? This hair algae will very likely explode into growth because of having too many fish in what is very likely an uncycled tank.Your water change schedule should be 25 % daily for awhile until this tank cleans up.If it is not cycled most of the fish you have will suffer terribly especialy the rummys and the shrimp. What is a hoto?

I just cleaned my tank 2 weeks ago, i bought new gravel and removed all the plants because a BBA so i cleaned everything but i keep the cycled water and also the pomp. I dont have the parameter of the water i never used any kit cause i rarely lose my fishs, i have them for long time. And i mean Otocinclus (algae cleaner). Btw i removed all the plants with Hair Algae on it. So now what you recommended. How many fish should i keep or any other suggestions? I would like have a tank with less algae atleast =).
