Red Spots On White Baby Mollies
Okay, so I was going to write a thread in this disease section, but I forgot what I was going to write. BUT I do have something else I need to ask. I've noticed some of my babies (2-4) have gotten a red spot on their head. It's not pink, it's not a faded red, it's red. They haven't died yet and it hasn't spread. One of the babies had some red stripes on it's tail (not from ammonia). Does anyone know what the problem is?
PS
What's the best test kit? Liquid or strip?

Liquid testing is superior to test strips.

The parents were both white and sorry, I can't take a picture. The camera is awful.

Is the spot in the exact same spot on all of the affected fish?

75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish

About the same spot. Right above where their brain would be (I think).

is it a raised area like a swelling or a growth, or just an area that happens to be a different color? I'm wondering if its a color variation, or a natural coloration of a juvenile fish they'll grow out of. I don't have any experience here, just pondering.

No, not raised. I don't think it's something that babies get. This is the only batch I've ever had that has this problem. I think the red is in the tissue or something.
