  1. Default 33 vs 20 gallon for common sailfin

I have my 19cm pleco in my 20 gallon so far, but i got opportunity to get a 33 gallon. Would it make any difference for him, quality of life-wise, to go into the slightly bigger tank, or should i keep waiting for a reasonably priced 50 gallon. The only reason i would be buying the tank is for the pleco.

    Thanks guys.

I believe your fish can get 18" long, why would you consider keeping it in anything smaller then your 60?
Put the live bearers in the smaller tanks if they are a concern. They would likely get eaten over time.

50 gallon will be fine for a while, it will be to small for him eventually. But then again, most people have them in ten gallon tanks.

Only until they find it's not suitable for them, I hope.

with the aquarium, i did get a external water filter that sits outside the aquarium and uses hoses. It's also quite a bit bigger than the regular $20 filters. oh well. time to learn something new.
