The pictus catfish is very active and will likely not get enough exercise in a 38 gallon.
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

Sounds like a lot of all bottom feeders to me. How about some mid and top dwellers?

I really don't care if they are all bottom. Hows the stocking though?

Honestly, IMO, 16 bottom feeders is too much. There will be many that get no food, I feel, and your tank will look empty without mid dwellers. Right now in my 55 gallon I have 7 clown loaches and one featherfin and that is too much. (The clowns will be getting moved out into another tank soon.)

...sorry...gotta agree with the others...you're overstocked with bottom dwellers...
...they need room to move and to be out of each other's way...so in this case it's not a total water volume question...it's a footprint question...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos
25 g Tropical Tank - Celestial Pearl Danio/Mixed

Thanks cocoa. Looks like we add about the same.
Freshwaterfishlover....no one is agruing with you here. You asked for our opinion and we offered it. I do think getting more of one variety and less of so many different kinds will end up making your happier in the long run, tho.
On a side-note......you are past due for your 250 post award. Go into the thread Awards/Medals and request your bronze activity award.Last edited by Lady Hobbs; 06-23-2007 at 03:36 PM.
