Tanganyikan set up
Here's my new set up for some Tanganyikan shell dwellers and rock dwellers. I'm thinking about attempting a riparium type tank, so I've only filled the tank halfway. I didn't bother with substrate since I'll be moving in about 8 months and didn't want to mess with it. It's a very simple set up, with some rocks, plants, and the fish. Filtration is an internal whisper filter and a sponge filter (tough to figure out filtration for a half filled tank.) Stock is leleupi, juli transcriptus fry, and a couple of multies that escaped being caught for the auction. Very low bioload tank.

Added some riparium plants. Since the riparium planters are expensive I made my own out of the sponge prefilters I use on my canisters. They were all getting old and manky so I figured the plants would like to root in them. I used some suction cups to attach the plants to the back for two of them. We'll see if my ghetto riparium works.

Good looking holey rock! The transcriptus get along with the rest?
I've seen people use those suction cup soap dishes meant for showers as ledges for plants. I was thinking about trying to silicone a glass shelf inside the tank, sort of like a planter box people put on their windows.

Thanks! The transcriptus are tiny, about 3/4", so they don't bug anyone. The leleupi and multies will squabble when the leleupi get to close to the multies territory, but since I've moved everything with the new set up, a lot of that has dissipated.
