Promise, if you want a cat, your wife "doesn't like them", and you've got allergic friends, you should try reading up on the Siberian cat. I've heard they act like dogs! They're also said to be hypoallergenic even though they're enormously fluffy.

You right with high strung kittens!. LOL Last fall I rescued 3 kittens, which some idiot dumped at our dirtroad in the middle of the woods. They were 3 weeks old and I had to get up 3 times the night to give them a bottle. Just that was a circus act (I wished I had eight arms for to feed them same time). But they all made it and after they were spayed and neutered (one boy, two girls) a family adopted all 3 of them.

I had a similar situation last summer. A colony of feral cats lived near my apartment, and one day I found a litter of four. I bottle fed them, let them poop all over everything, and when they were two pounds I sped over to the SPCA and said "TAKE THEM FROM ME!!"

They called two weeks later and said they had all been adopted : )
