well, I got a lot of pruning in, but I had to leave before the tank had even cleared and I didn't get back until after lights out, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow for photos. I think I may need to do a bit more yet, but I got a good start. I'll have to learn how to ship plants and take requests before the next time I do this, because I definitely threw out some healthy vals and java ferns.

Repost from the other page just so you can see the "before"...

HEY GUYS MY FISH TANK HAS FISH IN IT! Who knew?

java fern forest still needs some work, but a lot less of it is touching the glass at least. I had to remove some of the biggest leaves which made me sad, but they were really crowding everything out.

Don't bury the rhizome, said everybody. Well, nobody told the plants. You may recall that I attached the rhizomes to the tops of the rocks. Well, they've traveled over the rocks and burrowed under the substrate too. I took out a bunch of them... here's one I missed.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress

I almost completely removed the java moss shrub from the driftwood. Apparently the anubias had been treating it as a substrate, sending roots through it and growing over it rather than attaching itself to the driftwood. Now that the moss is gone the anubias is hanging in space. I may harvest it and use it elsewhere. All the white specks are assassin snail eggs.

I didn't do much work on the anubias because by the time I got all the vals out the tank was so cloudy that I could barely see. There's a lot of older, algae-stricken leaves that could stand to go away to make room for younger growth.

The elodea has room to breath now. Most of this is older, not all that healthy stuff, but hopefully now that it has space some new stems will start growing.

The java moss that I attached to the large vertical piece of driftwood had spread out around the waterline into a huge mass of moss and hair algae. Mostly hair algae. I cut away almost everything. What's left behind is algae-free and self-attached to the driftwood, so it should look much nicer as it grows in than what I had.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress

Damn. Plants really do love your tank, don't they? It looked more like a garden than a fish tank for a while there

Could you please remind us of the stock and the quantities please. In the first picture it looks like the tank is FULL of platys and nothing else. I love the look of this tank. If you figure out shipping of plants I would LOVE to be on the list to recieve some.
Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.

I'm pretty sure if you ask around at PT you'll get some answers- much more simple, kordon breather bags with some water(?) and in a flat rate priority box from usps ships.
did someone say list? Its Phillip, not Origami.
