FX5 Question
I’ve been using my FX5 for a little longer than 3 months now. Up until now it has been so silent you could not tell it was running unless you had the cabinet door open. About a week ago it started to get louder. Now you can hear a humming sound in the room even when the cabinet doors are closed. I had cleaned out the filter about a month ago. Yesterday I cleaned the filter again and this time I took the motor off and cleaned out the impeller and impeller well. There was not any sand or anything like that in there, just a little gunk.
The FX5 still sounds the same as it did before yesterday’s cleaning.
The noise is not from trapped air. It’s not really loud, just louder than before. I would say it’s a little louder than my Fluval 405.
Could this be due to a break-in period or is there something else I should try ?If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I have noticed mine is louder than when I got it, I have had mine since they came out though. If everything is clean and it is not too loud I would say not to worry about, some will be a little quieter than others.
