can anyone tell me how many litres a 5 foot fish tank can take approx

It depends on width and height...as well as length... 5' is an less common size for some reason, 6' seems to be the next size up from 4'.
Here's a good listing of tank sizes...then you just need to convert gallons to litres...

Multiply the length, the width, and the height (in inches) then divide by 232...this will give you approximate gallons.
Sorry, I'm not one for metric conversions...
