What size?

I'm considering starting up a nano reef but i've never kept SW fish before. Would I able to keep 2 clowns and some shrimp in like a 12g, or would it definitely be worth investing in like a slightly larger tank?

Two clowns would fit just fine is this tank when they are young but they will outgrow a 12g tank in no time at all. With a 12g tank, you are looking at small fish like clown gobies or firefish. Even the smallest of clownfish will need 20g+ once it grows.

You can set up a nice shrimp and coral tank in your 12g but the list of fish you can get is very limited.
