How level does the tank need to be?
I just tested the levelness (is that a word?) of my tank. Horizontally it appears to be off about 1 degree to the front. Is this cause for concern, or does it not matter if its only a slight pitch?

I have a tank that is just a bit off, too, never with a problem. I put it on styrofoam and it made no difference. It's like if the water line is clear to the top frame, the opposite side is just a hair below. Not even enough to count.

It is a 29g, I'm only using a lousy ipod touch level at the moment, I have to get a real one to get a completely accurate reading.

lol i touch leveler.
If its off a little bit, thats not a big deal when its a 29gal tank. And the nice thing if its a bit off is that if you over fill it, it all pours out one side. (not like I have had any experience with that) :)

How far is the level out?
You have some trim on your tank that makes a great level. Is it out a 1/4" from one side to the other?
Ipods make for a lousy level.lol Longer is better.
If its not out by much it should be fine. Its not a huge tank and the pressure exerted on the side is not that great.Larger tanks that are not level puts a lot of strain on the lower side. Some tanks have let go from this.Ray

Bought a real level today. Everything is pretty much level, which is a relief.

I have had my tank in 4-5 different apartments now (move alot for my job).
Only one of the apartments had a perfectly level setting... it's not a big deal.Good Tankin' & Take Care!
