I painted a piece of pvc pipe with krylon paint for plastic and wondered how long I should let it dry before I put it in the tank?

    Thanks

Spray paint drys fairly quickly, but I would let it sit for at least 24 - 48 hours. Then rinse it real well before you put it in the tank. Does it say anything on the can about being submersed in water? I would be concerned about anything left over from the propellant leaching into the water.

Give it a day or two. Careful just because it looks and feels dry, it may not really adhere that well until it completely sets. Also depends on how thick the coat of paint is. Lots of thin layers will dry quicker. When I did the intakes for my filter, I think I gave it at least a day.

I find its always best to give paint or anything that is being submerged a longer drying period.I would wait up to 3 days before using it.Just because its dry to touch does not mean it is fully cured.
I wait a week or more for silicone to set after resealing a tank.
