It's only an obsession, right?
Hi everyone!
I'm Kate, I live in Virginia (Hampton Roads area), and I got bitten by the fish bug a couple months ago. I've had other animals, but fish are completely new to me, so it's been with a lot of reading on this forum (and some others) that I've managed to get my girls this far.
I have 3 female bettas in a 10 gal. I've had all three together for 5 weeks (there were originally 4, one was never healthy and didn't make it). I just got, yesterday, a fourth female who is temporarily in a 5.5 gal (filtered with a spare taken out of the 10g). I should be getting some RCS soon, to take over in the 5.5g. And each tank has a couple of low-light live plants.
But, like I said, I'm completely new to this, so don't be surprised to get questions about bettas, shrimp, and plants!

Thanks in advance - Kate

Nice looking tanks.

Welcome to the forum
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Welcome to the AC! Well for a beginner you set up your tanks like a pro, really pretty.
I also started with a 10 gallon, but after a while you want more. I have now only after 1 1/2 years a five gallon (Montezuma - male Betta), a 10 gallon with a couple of Honey Gouramis, 4 Otos, a 29 gallon with Albino Corys, one Bulldog Pleco, Neons, Glolights Tetras and Swordtails, a 55 gallon with 2 Pearl Gouramis, Swordtails, more Corys and 6 Clown Loaches and a Common Pleco (they move soon in my new 125 gallon.

Thanks guys!
After I first set up the 10g, I had to keep looking at the tank pics I see on here for ideas, 'cause mine didn't look so smashing - I'm glad you like the result.
Oh, yeah, I'm resisting tank expansion... but I'm not sure how long that will last!

It does get tempting to get another larger tank.
