as some of you know, with my topoff system being topped off with untreated tapwater instead of r/o.....anyways, the phosphates have gone through the roof and measured at 2.2 mg/l and over.
Since then, have drained the topoff system, and replaced with r/o wateer, and upped the weekly water change and it is with some success.
My question is, when algae dies back, does it go sexual and release phosphates into the water similar to caulerpa releases gametes when dying?
