Apparently I need a new lid... -.-
So this morning I was awoken to the crash and splash of one feline breaking the glass lid on my aquarium and getting its feet soaked. *groan*
And of course its today.... the day I'm expecting my first aquabid purchase to arrive. So naturally I can't just run right to the store! So currently I have a board laying across the top of my tank in an effort to keep the fish from jumping out and the cats from jumping in.
After the mail arrives I'm headed to the lfs to find some canopy or hood to replace my broken one.....
Are there any types that I should avoid or look especially for?

Not good to have a cat that wants to bug your fish. You could replace it with a glass lid if you think the cat will not crash thru it or get a piece of plexiglass cut to fit.

Electric fence around that fish tank... yeah that'll do it
Hope you get all the glass out ok, that can't be good for fish. You may want to go with plexiglass if the cat likes to wonder up there a lot.

If you do get plexiglass, get it thick. I tried a piece that was too thin and it just bowed in the center.

Well the Petco had glass lids like what I had before (Which I was afraid of getting again cause I didn't want the silly felines to bust another one) and an all-glass hood. Decided to try the all-glass. Came with a light fixture but... boy is that bulb dim. :(
And the cut outs area location meant I had to move my filter to the other end of the tank... thus I will need to do some re-arranging in a few days to make everything work together better.
