Garrett: I am doing WC's with a turkey baster; is that a problem? The turkey baster was suggested on a DAF website. (FYI; I though I had replied to you earlier, but I guess I did something wrong since I don't see it. I am having an awful time navigating around this forum - it's like going thru a maze with a blindfold on!)

Hmm, a turkey baster, eh? That sounds like a good idea...might try that myself! I was wondering about the netting issue, too. I've heard they can get pretty crazy and possibly hurt themselves.

The turkey baster works great for the 1.5 gallon tank but would take eons if used for the 5 gallon. I will have to switch to the siphon method as Garrett suggested. Netting is a scary concept to me as well, so I will probably procrastinate until I get up the nerve! Any advice on that front?

OOps! When I rescued my two DAFs in their cube from the Hallmark store, I was assured they were both males. Well, Fred has turned out to be a Fredwina! I really don't want the baby thing, but I love little Fredwina and would hate to part with her. Now what?
