Rummy nose green spots?
hello i noticed some of my Rummy-nose got green spots on their head , i never really saw this before, anyone have a idea what it can be? Actually im traiting ick and my water temp is pretty high around 86F maybe its because of this.

here i added a picture, on the left the rummy noise got something like green/gold/ color on the head

Its normal for some rummynose tetras to have this marking

I noticed also , this appear after i changed the food form basic to (high quality food) maybe is the cause.

Mine have this as well. There are three different species under the name of rummynose tetras: Hemigrammus rhodostomus,Hemigrammus bleheri (most common), and Petitella georgiae. I think one of the species has this green marking while the other species don't. Rummy nose are known as a canary fish. You can basically tell how good your water is by their coloring. If their red is pale than it usually means something is wrong with the water. Since they lose coloring easily most people don't see the green spot near their head since they're not in full health at stores (usually). I know I when I first saw the green area I was a little worried, but I just think it's them showing full colors :)
