Checkerboard cichlids???...
Does anyone here keep Dicrossus filamentosus. I would like to hear any experiances. I want to get a dozen for one of my 135g. Pleco tanks. Do you think they would bother Pleco fry?

I wouldn't, if you're serious about truly breeding for the conservation of the species, don't add anything to the tanks but the fish you plan to breed... the stress from extra fish could cause the male to kick babies or any fish (regardless of how peaceful) can stress the babies to death, especially on the more sensitive species

I've got a pair of checkerboards. They're great little fish, have them in my community tank. From what I've read they're pretty shy, but mine aren't. They come out for food without issue and are active little fish.
