20 gallon tank buy
Picked up a 20 gallon tank, hood and metal stand at yard sale today that was used as a turtle tank. My question is if I fill with bleach water and let set for some time and clean and rinse will this be safe for fish? I'd hate to have bought it and not use it for fish, I guess I can use it for a gecko lizard home if need be. And I guess if nothing else use it as it was set up as, a tank for water turtles but that's not something I really want to do.
1--29 gallon tank: 1 small angelfish, pygmy cory, and 4 baby albino bristlenose.
2--55 gallon tank: 1 adult angelfish, 7 black skirt tetras, 5 yo yo loaches, 1 synodontis catfish and 1 spotted raphael.
3--3 gallon tank with female betta.

Leak test, do you mean fill with water and let set for a few days to make sure that there is no leaks?, I'm not sure exactly what you meant I figure this is was it.

Yea fill the tank all the way up with water and let it sit in the garage on newspaper for a couple days to see it it leaks.

It should be fine to clean with bleach. Just do lots of rinsing, until you can't smell it anymore. Then, when you do fill it for the final time, be sure to double up on declorinator.

Yea, the ones I cleaned a few years ago I cleaned with bleach and then rinsed numerous times and then let set outside on the back porch and let the sun and wind dry out and like you said I put tons of declorinator in it, I figure I put at least 3-4 times the amount needed.
