Well we all have to know about the the failed oil well in the gulf of mexico. The huge mistake of BP. Now, i figure we should as fish/ecosystem hobbiest keep an up to date story as this epic mis-happening changes.

The first is that since all techniques have failed to plug it they are drilling a second well to relieve all the stuff coming out which will take months. This is great especially for the animals. I love how noone tried to catch some animals that are going to prob. become extinct. Makes me mad that we did this as a race that knows of the devistations since this has happened before. I just dont think we can afford months. Let alone day at 200,000 gph that is jsut insane.

my two favorites in my life.

When all you can see is a dollar then ecological devastation no longer matters.
Its obviously not even a consideration before hand.

I don't see this as a huge mistake but a structural failure of some kind. They certainly need to find out why the shut-off system failed to work and why did that pipe shatter as it did? Not being able to stop this mess is no surprise. They have no idea of what they're doing because it's never been done before and not at this depth.

I don't see much hope for this mess until another well can be drilled and taped into that other pipe cutting it right off. I just hope they can get most of this leak stopped soon.

The facts coming out are showing that the entire cause of this was BP trying to save some money.

As if the oil spilling out was not bad enough, they continue to use toxic dispersants. This whole thing is sickening. People have yet to realize the implications of this spill. Lets just hope that there is some life remaining in the gulf of mexico once this finally finishes. Personally I hope something positive comes of this. A real move for alternative energy perhaps.
Who is "General Failure" and why is he reading my hard drive?
