"Flipper"
Good Afternoon, My name is Donna....I originally began interest in this site due to a problem I was having with my Pleco, but since the registration process he is now fine....Now comes to question...I have a Very Large Oscar, I named "Flipper", as it has a tendency to Flip out of the tank....it is about 14" long and probably 2 lbs. I changed his tank, going from a 40 to a 54 gal. size, and now it has been 12 days since the fish has eaten....have been told it was pouting, to adjusting, to angry......and I just completed another 25% water change, but still nothing, does anyone have advice on what I need to do, I have had the fish over 2 years, NEVER has it not eaten......it usually devours food!

Welcome to the Fabulous AC!
A 75 would be the minimum for an oscar.Housed properly and you have a fish that will live 20yrs.He is jumping because they like to have room to move around.

Your perameters are probably way off too.Water changes of about 50% weekly would be better.
Can you test your water and post your perameters?
What filtration is on the tank?
I have moved this thread to the Oscar section.Ray

Agreed 100%. Please post your water test results so we can help. As far as appetite goes you might try a few feeder guppies to see if you can tempt his appetite. However if your water parameters are badly off then putting more fish in the tank and them possibly not being eaten will just make things worse. We really need to see the test results for water please.
