i'm not very experienced with plants.
but my question is: are there any types of moss that aren't "hairy"? i'm looking for moss that looks "fuzzy", like those you find on trees. pretty much like moss balls, but i rather find a type you can accommodate onto a rock and let it take over it.

    thanks.

Fuzzy? I think Java Moss looks a lot like sphagnum moss which grows in trees. Now if you're talking about moss like that which grows on rocks, in between paving stones, and the like then all you can do is cut up Marimo balls and tie the strips down. Marimo is not a moss though, it's an algae, and it grows VERY, VERY slowly. It's also damaged/killed by Flourish Excel which many people use to supplement CO2 in planted tanks. Java Moss can easily be attached to rocks, driftwood, etc. then when attached, trimmed very short.
