"Embarrassing" But True!!

I was 21 or 22 at the time and was cutting across a pasture to get to a particular hot spot for trout. I had a brand new Mepps spinner tied on and reeled to the top of my rod. Half way across the field a very large group of cows (Yes Cows) coming running towards me. I pointed my rod tip to shu a cow away and actually hooked it. It took off running leaving me trying to get it unhooked. Unfortunately it took about 50 yards of line off and i broke off the line. I proceeded to get to the cow and remove the spinner. Needless to say their was alot of chatter on the banks with other fisherman. It's been over 30 years since this has happened. I walk into a old watering hole I use to visit and ordered a beer and I hear this, have you caught any cows lately. Needless to say after 30 plus years it is still extremely funny. I haven't seen this guy since the cow hooking days and we did alot of laughing about it and shared some of the hunting experiences we shared together back then. Sorry no pics about this one. He got away, but my days of hooking cows are over.
