Default Should I get a couple more fish?

    I currently have a 10G tank setup.

In it I have 6 white tipped Tetras (fully grown but small), 2 zebra longfin Danios, 2 orange platies and 2 Yamato shrimp.

I also have 3 plants, all small-ish that I will be keeping well trimmed and I have an small air pump for bubbles.

There are plenty of places for the shrimp to hide and feed and the tetras and danios seem to school together and are very happy.

I have noticed the platies tend to mill about themselves however never really mix with the others. I also noticed the smaller of the two sometimes just sits in one place barley moving. She (I think) will move as soon as food arives though and watching her closely I don't think there are health issues.

I was wondering if I need to get another few (4 maybe) platies from the same LFS I got these two from a fortnight ago.

I was hoping that with a few more of the same breed they too may school and behave more normally.

will this be too many fish for the tank though??? It would put me a little over the 1 inch per gallon rule however the tank is kept clean and water changes are regular. Also I will be moving to circa 50 G later in the year.

    thanks, chris

I think you're borderline over-stocked as is. Still okay, provided you have adequate filtration and do enough water changes...but I don't think I'd add more...

I was worrying that there might not be enough for the existing two to eat.

You reckon there might be enough to support more?

Maybe not.. you'll have to do supplemental feeding
