iave got a 40 gal tank and 150 watt hearter i set temp at 72 the lowest setting and the tank still goes up to around 82 iam affraid this summer i wont be able to keep it from going higher ive never seen the light on it go out either what do you suggest

Maybe a new heater. I suggest a visatherm stealth heater.

Where do you live? (climate) What temperature is your house usually at? What brand heater? The tank doesn't get direct sunlight does it? Most likely, your heater is inaccurate.

That is the normal online discount price. Normal LFS retail is like 40. Premium heater my ass. It's made in China and probably costs the company about 3 bucks to make, lol.

yeah the master test kit was only 16 so i think i saved some going thru them

all hagen heaters here (50W-300W) are 19.99 now, and stealths are at 20$ for a 50W to 60$ for a 300W
